Mr. Tahir Khan - FRCS(Tr and Ortho) MPhil
Tahir Khan is a renowned consultant orthopaedic surgeon and honorary lecturer at The University of Manchester Hospitals. His specialist training has led him to be on the Specialist Register of the General Medical Council (C4386218) of United Kingdom.
After completing his training in North Trent (Sheffield), Midlands (Birmingham) and North West (Manchester) regions, Mr. Khan was appointed as an Orthopaedic surgeon in 2002. He was awarded overseas training fellowships comprising of:
- Royal College of Surgeons Fellowship to Toronto, Canada
- Sheffield Children’s hospital Trusties Fellowship to Minnesota, USA
- The AO International Fellowship to Mainz, Germany
Due to his research interests, Mr. Khan was chosen to represent the UK in the celebrated ABC Travelling Fellowship by American, British and Canadian Orthopaedic Associations.
Tahir Khan had graduated as a doctor in 1989 and passed his FRCS examination in 1993 and Intercollegiate Fellowship in Trauma and Orthopaedics (FRCS Tr & Orth) in 1998. As a result of his research work on designing and testing a new bone traction system he was awarded his Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Orthopaedics in 2002. He is also member of the National Professional Societies in the clinical areas of his practice.
Mr. Khan’s areas of clinical interest lay in
- Musculo-oskeletal tumours
- Hip Impingement (Pain), Dysplasia (Clicky hips) in children, adolescents and adults
- Hip and Knee Replacement
- Children’s orthopaedic
- Foot and Ankle problems in Children and Adults
His Research interests include
- Arthroscopic hip surgery in children and adults
- Joint Replacement in Young adults
- Gait analysis in children
- Cerebral palsy
He is member of faculty in regional, national and international conferences /courses in areas of his interest
Mr. Khan is available for consultation at Alexandra Hospital, Cheadle, as well as the Regency Hospital, Maccelsfield.
